A fashion designer, the king of the favelas, a young French adventurer and a sea lover have two things in common: they live in Rio de Janeiro and they want to make things for the better in their city, while awaiting a lot of visitors with the coming world Cup and Olympic Games. Taking a close look at Rio is like taking the entire country’s pulse. It is undergoing massive changes, pacification and renovation. But building a new face isn’t all plain sailing. Social tensions, the risks of environmental catastrophes and historic inequalities are all challenges that brazil must overcome to affirm its emergence. In order to understand what the challenges are, let us follow Lenny, Axel, Feijao and Katia, during their daily routines and activities. Lenny is preparing her next collection, and Axel is renovating a house in a favela to transform it into a hotel. Feijao is playing an important role in galvanizing spirits in a formerly depressed area. Last but not least, environmental activist Katia is working hard to make Cariocas and the administration of Rio aware of the necessity of preserving the sanctuary of dolphins… In each episode, then, by following the main character, the viewer will also discover five different areas (and lifestyles) in Rio de Janeiro from the ground and above...
