October 7th Massacre: 24 Hours of Chaos
1x52' HDIn Israel, October 7 promises to be a peaceful and festive day. It's both Shabbat - a non-working day in the Jewish calendar - and Shimhat Thora, a joyous celebration marking the end and beginning of the annual cycle of reading the Holy Book. A joy shared by Israeli youth, who on this festive eve converge on the border with Gaza for the biggest musical gathering of the year: the Nova Festival.
However, on this Saturday, October 7, the carefree mood in Israel gave way to shock at dawn. And shock to torment and mourning.
At the very moment when the skies over the Hebrew state were ablaze with salvoes of rockets fired from Gaza, Hamas terrorists, backed up by other groups attacked Israel.
Based on never-before-seen footage and rare testimonies from survivors, heroes and former hostages, this film tells the minute-by-minute story of how, in less than 24 hours, 3,000 terrorists succeeded, to everyone's surprise, in carrying out a massive operation by air, sea and land, murdering almost 1,200 women, men and children, kidnapping 252 and wounding more than 5,000.
From Kibbutz Nir Oz, where a quarter of the inhabitants were executed, to the Nova rave party; from the town of Sderot, under siege, to the rescue workers, army and police; from the town of Ofakim, where heroic battles took place at the besieged Urim military base, immersed in the horror of a day described by those who lived through it as the worst in Israel's history.
