Unfathomable: The Search to Save the Titan
1 x 52' HDOn Sunday June 18, 2023, tragedy unfolds 3,800 meters beneath the vast Atlantic Ocean. Five men aboard the Titan, a small submersible, descend to the wreck of the Titanic. They will never surface again. For 96 hours, the world holds its breath as the media follow the search… and as time and oxygen threaten to run out. Four days after departure, the news breaks: debris from the submersible is found on the ocean floor. All on board are dead, including the three tourists who had spent 230,000 euros each to take part in the expedition. The Titan’s designers conceived a submersible they had hoped would be revolutionary, but which had failed colossally. Through an hour-by-hour account of this ill-fated voyage, we reconstruct the Titan’s plight, which is eerily similar to what befell the ocean liner Titanic. Interviews with experts, victims' relatives and former passengers will help us try to understand what really happened aboard the Titan.
