The Kogis in Colombia, the Handzabe in Tanzania, the Waura in Brazil, or the Papuans in New Guinea... The most beautiful photographic records of traditional societies are always the fruit of a great love story between a photographer and the part of the world he’s particularly fond of. This series invites you on a field trip, where we follow five renowned photographers who have a strong emotional bond with the traditional communities that they’ve been documenting for several decades. Each episode gives you the opportunity to be a part of this unique relationship, to discover little-known cultures and to get a look at the photographer’s work behind the scenes. Based on this photographic quest, each episode promises the discovery of a hard-to-access traditional society, thanks to the strong friendship between the photographer and a member of the community, showing the photographer’s work, his artistic approach, and his aesthetic vision.
