Just 80 years after the fire that destroyed the legendary Zeppelin, Hindenburg, in 1937, and after a few decades of having fallen into oblivion, airships enter a new era where power, ecology and technology come together.
This documentary will guide us back through this industrial, technical and human saga. From the first trials, carried out by Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, to the golden age of these «flying cigars» (first transatlantic flights) and, in 1929, the first round the world trip, numerous archive images will take us back in time. We will relive this historical epic which tragically ended not only with Zeppelins being used for Nazi propaganda but also with the Hindenburg drama being filmed live by numerous movie crews. This is both the story of a violent and unexpected ending and that of a revival in the sky.
