Namoroka: A Lost World
2 x 52' or 1 x 90' 4KThe mysterious Namoroka Tsingy is the last unexplored area of Madagascar. For the first time, world-class scientists will try and venture in to the heart of this unique and unmapped land, a hazardous expedition, with one ultimate goal, to reveal the secrets hidden deep inside. Namoroka is an extraordinary world of tree-lined canyons and scorching limestone pavements but the site’s stark appearance, hides a multitude of natural habitats unique for their biodiversity and record levels of endemic flora and fauna. To explore the heart of the Tsingy, 70 researchers and porters will have to follow a route upon which they will encounter deep caves and steep cliff faces. It’s impossible to take even a few steps without coming across sheer drops, bare and jagged landscapes where incredible life has evolved in spite of the extreme conditions: for over six months per year, there is no rainfall and daytime temperatures can soar up to 50°c. This exceptional mission will enable these experts to discover new species and organic substances that could profit the medicine of tomorrow.
