France, a Love Story

Photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand leaves the skies behind to travel the roads of France and capture portraits of his fellow citizens. Along the way, he encounters farmers in distress, refugees in search of a future, isolated communities, protests, and the hope of a generous, quarrelsome, idealistic people always ready to care for others.

As his journey unfolds, the indefatigable adventurer almost forgets his original project, discovering a France far more generous and caring than expected. A tender journey begins, between laughter and tears, among French people for whom fraternity still rhymes with equality.
